Care

Hand-washing is less harsh on ceramics long term, especially pieces with handles. If you choose to wash by hand, please avoid abrasive/metal sponges.

Stoneware is capable of very hot and cold temperatures. However, when a piece is taken from one extreme to the other quickly, it can cause the piece to crack or break (example: removing a dish from the refrigerator and placing it directly into a hot oven). Remember to slowly transition your pieces from one temperature to the next.

Pieces containing 22-karat gold are NOT microwave-safe. Dishwasher use not recommended as fading may occur on gold detailing.

Healthy Scratches

If you’ve been using pieces with matte glazes or raw clay finishes after awhile, you might notice some scratches or scuffs. This can just be part of the charm of handmade pottery! If the marks bother you, here’s a tried and true way to help spruce them up:

  1. Get a scouring powder. You can also make your own by mixing lemon juice with baking soda.

  2. Spread powder or paste on the scratch marks

  3. Scrub with a wooden brush or the harsher side of a regular sponge

  4. Rinse well and clean again with food safe dish soap
